Although this picture might look a little dramatic I can tell you that every thing was fine as it was taken on the traditional Easter fire.
The European Juggling Convention (EJC) is the biggest jugging event in the world. It started quite small with 11 people back in 1978 in Brighton, England and grew up over the years (the biggest EJC was in München, Germany with about 7200 participants).
This summer the EJC 2016 took place in Almere, Netherlands and it was the first time I joined in. I was pretty much excited about all those friendly, beautiful people from all across Europe with these awesome juggling skills from club juggling over hula hoop playing to stilt walking (or even playing soccer on stilts). Here is a small excerpt from the tons of photos I took.
Since weeks I looked forward to this year’s zombie walk. It was great fun last year and I took a lot of awesome photos there. Sadly three days before the walk the shutter of my EOS 70D died and I had to use my old dusty 450D 🙁
However it was a lot of fun and here are some pics of the 7th zombie walk in Bielefeld.
For the 20th time Bielefeld celebrated the Carnival of Cultures. As usual it was a real pleasure to see all those beautiful and fanciful costumes.
Since 19 years the “Carnival der Kulturen” (carnival of cultures) takes place in Bielefeld. It is always a colorful procession with a lot of creative and beautiful costumes and a good occasion for shooting nice pictures.
This year I took my 70-300 mm lens with me and made a lot of portrait shots.
Relax! Although this a little bit threatening looking guy seems to be a member of the Ku-Klux-Klan I can tell you not to worry: It’s just a catholic (well maybe he is a little bit more catholic than the usual catholic…). And the stick in his hand is not a baseball bat but a large candle (maybe used for exorcism – who knows).
I took this photo during the Procesión del Silencio with takes place in Madrid every year on Eastern.
When I visited circus EigenArt last year (see Circus EigenArt) it was quite some time since my last visit in a circus. Because I really enjoyed the show I decided to visit the circus Flic Flac. I was pretty happy (and suppressed) that both circuses allow taking photos (for non commercial purposes).
Flic Flac is Continue reading Circus Flic Flac
If I remember correctly then I know how to juggle since I was 18. Actually I am not spending much time on juggling nowadays but from time to time I pass by at a juggling club in the University near by. From there I know several people who are professional fire jugglers. The other day three groups from there had a performance where I had the chance to take lots of pictures.
