This year’s motto of the 23th Carnival der Kulturen in Bielefeld was Atmosfail – for an environmentally sustainable and fair atmosphere. So beside the beautiful costumes – particularity the stilt walkers were really amazing – there were lots of political statements.

For the 20th time Bielefeld celebrated the Carnival of Cultures. As usual it was a real pleasure to see all those beautiful and fanciful costumes.
This is one of the photos I like most from my first experience with low-key photography (which I had some time ago).
Yesterday the Zombie Walk took place in Bielefeld for the sixth time. There were a lot of time-consuming pretty professional zombie-costumes, some of them kind of funny others more brutal but all of them pretty bloody.
