Flic Flac PUNXXX

Its been four years since the last time I saw a show of circus Flic Flac and I was really excited to see the new show PUNXXX. The motto was – as the name of the show suggests – punk rock and most costumes and music was selected accordingly.

As usual for Flic Flac non of the acts involved animals. It was all about acrobatics, juggling, slapstick and stunts.

EJC 2016 on Fire

While one of my last posts showed some pictures of the EJC 2016 at daytime, here are some images after sunset. Every day there was an open fire space where lots of people where willing to show their skills.

EJC 2016

The European Juggling Convention (EJC) is the biggest jugging event in the world. It started quite small with 11 people back in 1978 in Brighton, England and grew up over the years (the biggest EJC was in München, Germany with about 7200 participants).
This summer the EJC 2016 took place in Almere, Netherlands and it was the first time I joined in. I was pretty much excited about all those friendly, beautiful people from all across Europe with these awesome juggling skills from club juggling over hula hoop playing to stilt walking (or even playing soccer on stilts). Here is a small excerpt from the tons of photos I took.

Circus Flic Flac

When I visited circus EigenArt last year (see Circus EigenArt) it was quite some time since my last visit in a circus. Because I really enjoyed the show I decided to visit the circus Flic Flac. I was pretty happy (and surprised) that both circuses allow taking photos (for non commercial purposes).

Hot & Twisted

If I remember correctly then I know how to juggle since I was 18. Actually I am not spending much time on juggling nowadays but from time to time I pass by at a juggling club in the University near by. From there I know several people who are professional fire jugglers. The other day three groups from there had a performance where I had the chance to take lots of pictures.

Circus EigenArt

Frankly I can’t remember when I visited a circus the last time. It was surely more than 20 years ago. So I was a little skeptical when I was asked if I would like to visit a show of Circus EigenArt. It is a pretty small circus with no animals. So there is lot’s of jugging, acrobatic and clownery.

But it was really amazing. Due to the small tent I felt like sitting nearly on the stage. The (live) music was very good integrated it the different acts and the shows were awesome.
